Kilcommon/Rearcross FC U-12's 1 - Nenagh Celtic 2

A goal at either side of half time was enough to give the Nenagh side all 3 points from last Saturday's encounter. Kilcommon / Rearcross played host to Nenagh Celtic in ideal conditions last Saturday and from the start it was the home side who looked the most promising. Nenagh Celtic settled in to the game as the first half progressed and began to show signs of menace in front of the Kilcommon / Rearcross goalmouth with chances being created. It was the Nenagh side who took the lead following a through ball from midfield which found their striker who in turn found the net without mistake in the 22nd minute of the opening half. Minutes later Tristan Deegan was unlucky not to hit the target at the other end who saw his effort sail over the crossbar. The home side finally got even in the 13th minute of the second half when a great strike from Aaron Lenihan found the bottom right hand corner of the net to level matters. Nenagh Celtic did not delay to regain the advantage and minutes later were 2-1 up when their effort found the roof of the net from distance. Chances were created and missed at either end of the pitch for the remainder of the game but it was the visiting side who took the honours with the narrowest of margins.
